This policy explains how the Slice Shop team handles information on this website and in Slice Shop apps and previews. Parents and guardians manage accounts and purchases. Contact us at support@sliceshopmath.com.
1. The website and the App
This website is a parent information portal: it presents the learning approach, curriculum plans, videos and App availability. It does not offer interactive lessons or ask children to create accounts. The iPad and iPhone apps and development previews provide the learning experience. Features described as planned or coming soon are not necessarily publicly available.
2. Information we process
- Website requests: our hosting service receives technical details such as IP address, request time, requested page, browser/device information and errors to deliver pages and maintain security.
- Support: when you email us, we receive your email address and the information or attachments you choose to send.
- Parent accounts, where enabled: Google or Apple sign-in through Firebase Authentication can provide an account identifier, authentication tokens and provider information, and a name or email address made available by the provider. An optional parent nickname may be stored. We do not receive your Google or Apple password.
- Learning records: lessons keep completion, current scene, recipe discoveries, task responses, hints used and practice history on the device. Where a parent enables account progress saving or synchronization, these records and an app-generated device identifier may be associated with the parent account and sent to the account service.
- Purchases, where offered: Apple processes payments. We process product identifiers, signed transaction/receipt information, purchase or expiry dates, and access entitlements to provide and restore purchases. We do not receive card details.
3. Why we use it
We use information to serve the website, sign in parents, preserve or synchronize learning where enabled, provide and restore paid access, answer support requests, and prevent misuse. We do not sell personal information. The current portal has no advertising trackers or external marketing analytics integration, and the apps do not include Firebase Analytics. We do not use children's learning records for targeted advertising.
4. Children's information and parent choices
The learning experience is designed for children; the website, accounts, support and purchase steps are intended for adults. Lessons do not require a child's full name, birth date, school, address, photo, voice recording or precise location. The current lessons have no public chat, child messaging, camera or microphone recording feature. Character voices and demonstration videos are prepared content, not recordings of a child using the App.
Parents can choose device-only learning in the available local/free experience and decide whether to associate existing device records with an account where that option is offered. Signing in is not consent to unrelated child-data uses. We will provide additional notice and obtain any consent required by applicable children's privacy rules before introducing additional online collection or use. Contact us if you believe a child has supplied personal information that should not have been collected.
5. Service providers and external links
We use hosting services to operate our website and account service. Google/Firebase provides authentication where enabled; Apple provides sign-in and App Store purchase services where enabled. The website typeface is hosted on our own server; loading it does not send font requests to Google. These providers process information under their own applicable terms and privacy policies. App Store and email links take you to other services. We do not embed an advertising network or a third-party video player.
See Firebase privacy information, Google's Privacy Policy and Apple's Privacy Policy. Providers may process information outside your country.
6. Storage, security and retention
Local records remain in the relevant browser or App storage until changed or removed. Clearing browser data or deleting the App may remove local records; it does not automatically delete an account or server-held records. We use HTTPS for public network services and account authentication to restrict access. No storage or transmission method is perfectly secure.
We retain support and account records as needed for the purpose described here, handling a deletion request, security or applicable legal requirements. Limited transaction records may need to remain for purchase verification, fraud prevention or accounting.
7. Access, correction and deletion
Where parent accounts are available in the App, parents can initiate account deletion in Account → Account settings → Delete account. You will confirm the request and verify your sign-in. Deletion removes the Slice Shop parent authentication account, cloud learning records, and account-owned records and backups on the device making the request. Other devices remove that account’s cached records when they reconnect and receive the deletion status. Separately saved device-only or other-account backups are not deleted. Limited pseudonymous purchase-verification records and a deletion marker are retained to prevent an old session from recreating the account and to support eligible purchase restoration and fraud prevention. Deletion does not remove your Google or Apple account.
Rotating service-recovery backups may retain deleted records until they expire, currently for up to 14 days. They are restricted to recovery use; deletion markers must be preserved when restoring a backup so deleted accounts are not returned to active service.
Parents may email support@sliceshopmath.com to request access, correction or deletion of account and learning information, or ask us to stop account-linked synchronization. We may ask for enough information to verify account ownership, but never your sign-in password. Requests are handled subject to applicable rights and record-retention obligations. You may also have the right to object, restrict processing, request a copy of your data, or complain to a privacy authority, depending on where you live.
Removing an account or App does not cancel an Apple subscription. Manage or cancel a subscription separately through Apple. Do not email a child's unnecessary identifying information, passwords, verification codes or payment-card details.
8. Changes and contact
We will update this policy as the product and its data practices change and show the updated date. Material changes requiring a separate notice or consent will be handled accordingly. Questions: support@sliceshopmath.com.
